Vi Isaac’s Art

Vi Isaac’s Art

Working sporadically, I express art in a wide range of media. I enjoy trying to capture nuances, moods and images in nature with occasional lapses into abstract.

At nearly 40 years of age while still teaching, I began drawing and painting, instructed in Port Hardy by Mark Gwynn. Painting en plein air in the Crowsnest Pass, I worked with acrylics and watercolors. In Powell River I was introduced to oils by Ursula Medley, and painted with her in Tuscany. Later in Peace country, I practiced watercolours with Marjorie Henn.   Melbourne artist David Taylor led a plein air watercolor course in New Zealand, and again in Tuscany and Cinque Terre, Italy. I loved painting in and around Paris with New York artist Phil Levin. Currently living in BC’s lovely Shuswap country, I look forward to painting and showing my work with the Blind Bay Painters. While I enjoy experimenting with different media and techniques on my own, attendance at many great workshops has been very motivating.
